Sonic Fatigue Design Guide for Military Aircraft
This report was prepared by Acoustics Vibration Associates, Atlanta, Georgia, a Division of Science Appl i cat ions, Inc., LaJol la, Cal i fornia, for the Aero-Acoustics Branch, Vehicle Dynamics Division, Air Force Fl ight Dynamics Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, under Contract F 33615-73-C-3124. The work described herein was conducted as Air Force System Canmand's exploratory development program. It establishes design and design cri teria for sonic fatigue prevent ion for fl ight vehicles. This program was directed under Project 1471, I 'Aero—Acoustic Probl ems in Task 147101, "Sonic Fatigue," and Work Unit 1147101 40, Flight Vehicles,' "Sonic Fatigue Design Handbook for Mi litary Aircraft." Mr. R. C. W. van der Heyde was the engineer in charge Of the work. This report concludes the work on Contract F 33615-73-C-3124, which covered the period from June 1973 to August 1974. The authors of the report grateful ly acknowledge the ass i stance rendered by R. H. Burr in, C. L. Balfour, and L. Densmore in developing and reproducing design and figures presented in the report.
